TORSIONFLEX is a rubber insulated cable which runs between the generator and the transformer, whether it is located at the base of the tower, or high above in the nacelle. About TOP CROP - Top Crop Phase1 currently has an installed capacity of 102 MW, enough to power 31,000 average homes. Construction of Top Crop 1 began in April 2009 and went into service in October 2009. Phase 1 consists of 68 GE1.5 MW SLE turbines. An additional 198 MW Phase 2 is under construction and is scheduled for completion mid - 2010. When all Phases are completed TOP CROP power generation will total 600 MW, enough power to supply electricity to 180,000 homes.
About MEADOW LAKE - Meadow Lake Phase1 currently has an installed capacity of 200 MW – enough to power approximately 60,000 average homes. Construction of Meadow Lake 1 began in April 2009 and went into service October 2009. Phase 1 consists of 121 Vestas V82 1.65 MW turbines. Phase 2 currently under construction consists of 66 Acciona turbines and will provide 99MW of power. Planned Phases 3 – 6 will provide between 100 to 200 MW of power and potentially total 660 turbines.
